According to the EU Directive on Marine Equipment (96/98 EC) that entered into force on January 1 1999, and most recently amended in April 2009, the following test standards apply for SIMRAD CS68 ECDIS and PLECDIS products. Ref. MarED's website http://www.mared.org.
USCG approval for use in the United States is pending.

- IEC 61174 (2008),
- IEC 62288 Ed.1.0 (2008)
SIMRAD CS68 ECDIS and PLECDIS™ with SW version 3.1 are approved and found compliant with current regulations by DNV.
If you have a Simrad CS68 ECDIS or PLECDIS™ product running a sw. older than 3.1.00 version we recommend that you to upgrade to current version 3.1.00. If not you might be found to be not compliant with SOLAS Carriage Requirements. See SOLAS Chapter V Regulation 27. To display all chart objects, presentation library 3.4 included in sw. versions 3.1.00 is required. Older sw. versions uses presentation library 3.3 and is no longer recommended.
